I found that you must select "Detect Enclosing Box" and set the rotation angle to 0. I do not however stand by the accuracy of this information, for all I know it TWAINBridge might actually do something else. Sadly, nothing seems to work. when previously I had it working perfectly under older versions of OS X. That solved the problem for me, except of course as you said might happen, the buttons on the scanner itself no longer work.
I've reinstalled and restarted a few times now, and it has completely disappeared. For command line use, restart was not necessary. Thanks. Special steps for use with OSX 10.10 Yosemite do not seem necessary… Hope this helps.
The button was on the unlock position at the bottom of the scanner. All is good in scanlandia! It was so easy to follow. Check This Out Repairs of such Canon brand peripheral equipment shall be governed by the terms of the Separate Warranty.

A dated proof of purchase is required at the time of warranty service. I dl'ded these and will install when I get some free X. While TwainBridge.app may perhaps sometimes be installed by Canon, Get Info reveals that it is an Apple app (v. 8.0, © 2000-2011 Apple Inc.) and I think the problem should be Please forgive my bad english.

As I said, there is no advantage to me of having to use Image Capture first to scan the image before opening it in Photoshop. I downloaded the direct-link (Step 4) and tried to install this.
